drm/vc4: v3d: simplify clock retrieval
Common pattern of handling deferred probe can be simplified with
dev_err_probe() and devm_clk_get_optional(). This results in much
less code.

drm/vc4: Get the rid of DRM_ERROR()
DRM_ERROR() has been deprecated in favor of pr_err(). However, we
should prefer to use drm_err() whenever possible so we get device-
specific output with the error message. In error case of kcalloc,
we can simply drop DRM_ERROR(), because kcalloc already logs errors.

drm/vc4: hdmi: Handle error case of pm_runtime_resume_and_get
The commit 0f5251339e ("drm/vc4: hdmi: Make sure the controller is
powered in detect") introduced the necessary power management handling
to avoid register access while controller is powered down.
Unfortunately it just print a warning if pm_runtime_resume_and_get()
fails and proceed anyway.

This could happen during suspend to idle. So we must assume it is unsafe
to access the HDMI register. So bail out properly.

drm/vc4: tests: Remove vc4_dummy_plane structure
The vc4_dummy_plane structure was introduced as a mean to add
mock-specific fields.

However, we never really used it and it's still strictly equivalent to

simply remove the vc4_dummy_plane structure and make the mock code

Revert "drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER to depends on"
This reverts commit e075e496f5, as helper
code should always be selected by the driver that needs it, for the
convenience of the final user configuring a kernel.

The user who configures a kernel should not need to know which helpers
are needed for the driver he is interested in. Making a driver depend
on helper code means that the user needs to know which helpers to enable
first, which is very user-unfriendly.

drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depends on
Most of our helpers have relied on being selected so far through
Kconfig, but that creates issues when we have multiple layers of helpers
with some depending on others.

Indeed, select doesn't select a dependency's dependencies, and thus
isn't super intuitive. Depends on however doesn't have that limitation,
so we can just switch all the drivers that were selecting
DRM_DISPLAY_HDMI_HELPER to depend on it.

Pull drm updates from Dave Airlie:
"This contains two major new drivers:

   - imagination is a first driver for Imagination Technologies devices,
it only covers very specific devices, but there is hope to grow it

   - xe is a reboot of the i915 GPU (shares display) side using a more
upstream focused development model, and trying to maximise code
sharing. It's not enabled for any hw by default, and will hopefully
get switched on for Intel's Lunarlake.

This also drops a bunch of the old UMS ioctls. It's been dead long
  enough.

amdgpu has a bunch of new color management code that is being used in
  the Steam Deck.

amdgpu also has a new ACPI WBRF interaction to help avoid radio
  interference.

This happens because, although `prepare_fb` and `cleanup_fb` are
perfectly balanced, we cannot guarantee consistency in the check
plane->state->fb == state->fb. This means that sometimes we can increase
the refcount in `prepare_fb` and don't decrease it in `cleanup_fb`. The
opposite can also be true.

In fact, the struct drm_plane .state shouldn't be accessed directly
but instead, the `drm_atomic_get_new_plane_state()` helper function should
be used. So, we could stick to this check, but using
`drm_atomic_get_new_plane_state()`. But actually, this check is not really
needed. We can increase and decrease the refcount symmetrically without
problems.

This is going to make the code more simple and consistent.

a08d4d6284 drm/vc4: tests: Use KUNIT_DEFINE_ACTION_WRAPPER
In order to pass functions to kunit_add_action(), they need to be of the
kunit_action_t type. While casting the function pointer can work, it
will break control-flow integrity.

vc4_mock already defines such a wrapper for drm_dev_unregister(), but it
involves less boilerplate to use the new macro, so replace the manual
implementation.

drm/vc4: hdmi: Create destroy state implementation
Even though we were rolling our own custom state for the vc4 HDMI
controller driver, we were still using the generic helper to destroy
that state.

It was mostly working since the underlying state is the first member of
our state so the pointers are probably equal in all relevant cases, but
it's still fragile so let's fix this properly.

drm/vc4: tests: Fix UAF in the mock helpers
The VC4 mock helpers allocate the CRTC, encoders and connectors using a
call to kunit_kzalloc(), but the DRM device they are attache to survives
for longer than the test itself which leads to use-after-frees reported
by KASAN.

Switch to drmm_kzalloc to tie the lifetime of these objects to the main
DRM device.

013d382d11 drm/vc4: Call drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() at shutdown time
Based on grepping through the source code these drivers appear to be
missing a call to drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() at system shutdown
time. Among other things, this means that if a panel is in use that it
won't be cleanly powered off at system shutdown time.

The fact that we should call drm_atomic_helper_shutdown() in the case
of OS shutdown/restart comes straight out of the kernel doc "driver
instance overview" in drm_drv.c.

Merge tag 'sound-6.6-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/tiwai/sound

Pull sound updates from Takashi Iwai:
"We've received a fairly wide range of changes at this time, including
for ALSA and ASoC core, but all of them are rather small changes.

  Here are some highlights:

  ALSA / ASoC Core:
   - Fixes of inconsistent locking around control API helpers
   - A few new control API functions and cleanups
   - Workarounds for potential UAFs by delayed kobj releases
   - Unified PCM copy ops with iov_iter
   - Continued efforts for ASoC API cleanups

  ASoC:
   - An adaptor to allow use of IIO DACs and ADCs in ASoC which pulls in
     some IIO changes
   - Create a library function for intlog10() and use it in the NAU8825
     driver
   - Convert drivers to use the more modern maple tree register cache
   - Lots of work on the SOF framework, AMD and Intel drivers, including
a lot of cleanup and new device support
   - Standardization of the presentation of jacks from drivers
   - Provision of some generic sound card DT properties
   - Support for AMD Van Gogh, AMD machines with MAX98388 and NAU8821,
AWInic AW88261, Cirrus Logic CS35L36 and CS42L43, various Intel
platforms including AVS machines with ES8336 and RT5663, Mediatek
     MT7986, NXP i.MX93, RealTek RT1017 and StarFive JH7110

  Others:
   - New test coverage including ASoC and topology tests in KUnit; this
also involves enabling UML builds of ALSA since that's the default
KUnit test environment which pulls in the addition of some stubs to
     the driver
   - More enhancement of pcmtest driver
   - A few fixes / enhancements of MIDI 2.0 UMP core
   - Using PCI definitions in allover HD-audio code
   - Support for Cirrus CS35L56 and TI TAS2781 HD-audio sub-codecs
   - CS35L41 HD-audio sub-codec improvements
   - Continued emu10k1 improvements"

722d4f06e5 drm: Explicitly include correct DT includes
The DT of_device.h and of_platform.h date back to the separate
of_platform_bus_type before it as merged into the regular platform bus.
As part of that merge prepping Arm DT support 13 years ago, they
"temporarily" include each other. They also include platform_device.h
and of.h. As a result, there's a pretty much random mix of those include
files used throughout the tree. In order to detangle these headers and
replace the implicit includes with struct declarations, users need to
explicitly include the correct includes.

c265f340ea drm/connector: Allow drivers to pass list of supported colorspaces
Drivers might not support all colorspaces defined in
dp_colorspaces and hdmi_colorspaces. This results in
undefined behavior when userspace is setting an
unsupported colorspace.

Allow drivers to pass the list of supported colorspaces
when creating the colorspace property.

v2:
 - Use 0 to indicate support for all colorspaces (Jani)
 - Print drm_dbg_kms message when drivers pass 0
to signal that drivers should specify supported
   colorspaecs explicity (Jani)

v3:
 - Move changes to create a common colorspace_names array
   to separate patch

v6:
- Avoid magic when passing 0 for supported_colorspaces;
be explicit in treating it as "all DP/HDMI"

1ed54a19f3 drm/vc4: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored
and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a
quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this
quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns
void.

Trivially convert the vc4 drm drivers from always returning zero in the
remove callback to the void returning variant.
