d0ea5cbdc2 drivers/net/ethernet: clean up mis-targeted comments
As part of the W=1 cleanups for ethernet, a million [*] driver
comments had to be cleaned up to get the W=1 compilation to
succeed. This change finally makes the drivers/net/ethernet tree
compile with W=1 set on the command line. NOTE: The kernel uses
kdoc style (see Documentation/process/kernel-doc.rst) when
documenting code, not doxygen or other styles.

After this patch the x86_64 build has no warnings from W=1, however
scripts/kernel-doc says there are 1545 more warnings in source files, that
I need to develop a script to fix in a followup patch.

The errors fixed here are all kdoc of a few classes, with a few outliers:
In file included from drivers/net/ethernet/qlogic/netxen/netxen_nic_hw.c:10:

5a6bd84f81 net: hns: use IRQ_NOAUTOEN to avoid irq is enabled due to request_irq
Rather than doing request_irq and then disabling the irq immediately, it
should be safer to use IRQ_NOAUTOEN flag for the irq. It removes any gap
between request_irq() and disable_irq().

44a8c4f33c Merge git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/netdev/net
We got slightly different patches removing a double word
in a comment in net/ipv4/raw.c - picked the version from net.

Simple conflict in drivers/net/ethernet/ibm/ibmvnic.c. Use cached
values instead of VNIC login response buffer (following what
commit 507ebe6444 ("ibmvnic: Fix use-after-free of VNIC login
response buffer") did).

49edd6a2c4 net: hns: fix soft lockup when there is not enough memory
When there is not enough memory and napi_alloc_skb() return NULL,
the HNS driver will print error message, and than try again, if
the memory is not enough for a while, huge error message and the
retry operation will cause soft lockup.

When napi_alloc_skb() return NULL because of no memory, we can
get a warn_alloc() call trace, so this patch deletes the error
message. We already use polling mode to handle irq, but the
retry operation will render the polling weight inactive, this
patch just return budget when the rx is not completed to avoid
dead loop.

bf5a6b4c47 net: hns: Fix the stray netpoll locks causing deadlock in NAPI path
This patch fixes the problem of the spin locks, originally
meant for the netpoll path of hns driver, causing deadlock in
the normal NAPI poll path. The issue happened due to the presence
of the stray leftover spin lock code related to the netpoll,
whose support was earlier removed from the HNS[1], got activated
due to enabling of NET_POLL_CONTROLLER switch.

Earlier background:
The netpoll handling code originally had this bug(as identified
by Marc Zyngier[2]) of wrong spin lock API being used which did
not disable the interrupts and hence could cause locking issues.
i.e. if the lock were first acquired in context to thread like
'ip' util and this lock if ever got later acquired again in
context to the interrupt context like TX/RX (Interrupts could
always pre-empt the lock holding task and acquire the lock again)
and hence could cause deadlock.

Proposed Solution:
1. If the netpoll was enabled in the HNS driver, which is not
right now, we could have simply used spin_[un]lock_irqsave()
2. But as netpoll is disabled, therefore, it is best to get rid
of the existing locks and stray code for now. This should
solve the problem reported by Marc.

acb1ce15a6 net: hns: Use NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT for hns driver
When the HNS driver loaded, always have an error print:
"netif_napi_add() called with weight 256"

This is because the kernel checks the NAPI polling weights

So use NAPI_POLL_WEIGHT to fix it.

[27237.844750] BUG: KASAN: use-after-free in hns_nic_net_xmit_hw+0x708/0xa18[hns_enet_drv]

After hnae_queue_xmit() in hns_nic_net_xmit_hw(), can be

a350eccee5 net: remove 'fallback' argument from dev->ndo_select_queue()
After the previous patch, all the callers of ndo_select_queue()
provide as a 'fallback' argument netdev_pick_tx.
The only exceptions are nested calls to ndo_select_queue(),
which pass down the 'fallback' available in the current scope
- still netdev_pick_tx.

We can drop such argument and replace fallback() invocation with
netdev_pick_tx(). This avoids an indirect call per xmit packet
in some scenarios (TCP syn, UDP unconnected, XDP generic, pktgen)
with device drivers implementing such ndo. It also clean the code
a bit.

Tested with ixgbe and CONFIG_FCOE=m

This WARNING occurred because of calling phy_stop before phy_start.

The root cause of the problem in commit '308c6cafde01' is:

Reference to hns_nic_init_phy, the flag phydev->supported is changed after
phy_connect_direct. The flag phydev->supported is 0x6ff when hns modules is
loaded, so will not change Fiber Port power(Reference to marvell.c), which
is power on at default.
Then the flag phydev->supported is changed to 0x6f, so Fiber Port power is
off when removing hns modules.
When hns modules installed again, the flag phydev->supported is default
value 0x6ff, so will not change Fiber Port power(now is off), causing mac
link not up problem.

So the solution is change phy flags before phy_connect_direct.

There will be a large number of MAC pause frames on the net,
which caused tx timeout of net device. And then the net device

So need doubled ndev->watchdog_timeo if device watchdog occurred

it.

When collecting dfx information such as hardware registers when tx timeout.
Some registers for count were cleared when read. So need move this task

308c6cafde net: hns: All ports can not work when insmod hns ko after rmmod.
There are two test cases:
1. Remove the 4 modules:hns_enet_drv/hns_dsaf/hnae/hns_mdio,
and install them again, must use "ifconfig down/ifconfig up"
command pair to bring port to work.

This patch calls phy_stop function when init phy to fix this bug.

2. Remove the 2 modules:hns_enet_drv/hns_dsaf, and install them again,
all ports can not use anymore, because of the phy devices register
   failed(phy devices already exists).

Phy devices are registered when hns_dsaf installed, this patch
   removes them when hns_dsaf removed.

The two cases are sometimes related, fixing the second case also requires
fixing the first case, so fix them together.

4bd2c03be7 net: hns: remove ndo_poll_controller
As diagnosed by Song Liu, ndo_poll_controller() can
be very dangerous on loaded hosts, since the cpu
calling ndo_poll_controller() might steal all NAPI
contexts (for all RX/TX queues of the NIC). This capture
can last for unlimited amount of time, since one
cpu is generally not able to drain all the queues under load.

hns uses NAPI for TX completions, so we better let core
networking stack call the napi->poll() to avoid the capture.

skb->truesize is not meant to be tracking amount of used bytes in a skb,

977d5ad39f ACPI: Convert ACPI reference args to generic fwnode reference args
Convert all users of struct acpi_reference_args to more generic
fwnode_reference_args. This will

 1) avoid an ACPI specific references to device nodes with integer
    arguments as well as

 2) allow making references to nodes other than device nodes in ACPI.

As a by-product, convert the fwnode interger arguments to u64. The
arguments were 64-bit integers on ACPI but the fwnode arguments were
just 32-bit.

8ec56fc3c5 net: allow fallback function to pass netdev
For most of these calls we can just pass NULL through to the fallback
function as the sb_dev. The only cases where we cannot are the cases where
we might be dealing with either an upper device or a driver that would
have configured things to support an sb_dev itself.

The only driver that has any significant change in this patch set should be
ixgbe as we can drop the redundant functionality that existed in both the
ndo_select_queue function and the fallback function that was passed through
to us.

4f49dec907 net: allow ndo_select_queue to pass netdev
This patch makes it so that instead of passing a void pointer as the
accel_priv we instead pass a net_device pointer as sb_dev. Making this
change allows us to pass the subordinate device through to the fallback
function eventually so that we can keep the actual code in the
ndo_select_queue call as focused on possible on the exception cases.

6396bb2215 treewide: kzalloc() -> kcalloc()
The kzalloc() function has a 2-factor argument form, kcalloc(). This
patch replaces cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b, gfp)

with:
        kcalloc(a * b, gfp)

as well as handling cases of:

        kzalloc(a * b * c, gfp)

with:

        kzalloc(array3_size(a, b, c), gfp)

as it's slightly less ugly than:

        kzalloc_array(array_size(a, b), c, gfp)

This does, however, attempt to ignore constant size factors like:

        kzalloc(4 * 1024, gfp)

though any constants defined via macros get caught up in the conversion.

Any factors with a sizeof() of "unsigned char", "char", and "u8" were
dropped, since they're redundant.

The Coccinelle script used for this was:

// Fix redundant parens around sizeof().

The function of_parse_phandle() returns a NULL pointer if it cannot
resolve a phandle property to a device_node pointer. In function
hns_nic_dev_probe(), its return value is passed to PTR_ERR to extract
the error code. However, in this case, the extracted error code will
always be zero, which is unexpected.
