bb41fe35dc Char/Misc and other driver subsystem updates for 6.9-rc1
Here is the big set of char/misc and a number of other driver subsystem
updates for 6.9-rc1. Included in here are:
   - IIO driver updates, loads of new ones and evolution of existing ones
   - coresight driver updates
   - const cleanups for many driver subsystems
   - speakup driver additions
   - platform remove callback void cleanups
   - mei driver updates
   - mhi driver updates
   - cdx driver updates for MSI interrupt handling
   - nvmem driver updates
   - other smaller driver updates and cleanups, full details in the
     shortlog

All of these have been in linux-next for a long time with no reported
issue, other than a build warning with some older versions of gcc for a
speakup driver, fix for that will come in a few days when I catch up
 with my pending patch queues.

Merge tag 'char-misc-6.9-rc1' of git://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/kernel/git/gregkh/char-misc

Pull char/misc and other driver subsystem updates from Greg KH:
"Here is the big set of char/misc and a number of other driver

The build warning hits clang and is a gcc (and C23) extension, and is
fixed up in the merge.

e37db17dae mei: me: remove unnecessary NULL pointer checks
The .shutdown(), .remove(), and power management callbacks are never called
unless .probe() has already returned success, which means it has set
drvdata to a non-NULL pointer, so "dev" can never be NULL in the other
callbacks.

Remove the unnecessary checks.

515a2f5074 mei: me: Use dma_set_mask_and_coherent() and simplify code
Use dma_set_mask_and_coherent() instead of unrolling it with some
dma_set_mask()+dma_set_coherent_mask().

Moreover, as stated in [1], dma_set_mask() with a 64-bit mask will never
fail if dev->dma_mask is non-NULL.
So, if it fails, the 32 bits case will also fail for the same reason.

Simplify code and remove some dead code accordingly.

While at it, include directly <linux/dma-mapping.h> instead on relying on
indirect inclusion.

2f79d3d1f7 mei: add device kind to sysfs
Some of the mei device heads are not generic and have
a specific purpose, we need to announce it to the user space
so it is possible to detect the correct device node via
matching attributes.

Generic heads are marked as 'mei' while special purpose heads
have their own names. Currently we are adding 'itouch' string
for Intel IPTS 1.0, 2.0 devices.

This is done via new sysfs attribute 'kind'.

Disable the MEI driver on LBG SPS (server) platforms, some corner
flows such as recovery mode does not work, and the driver
doesn't have working use cases.

fec874a81b mei: me: fix irq number stored in hw struct
Commit 261b3e1f2a ("mei: me: store irq number in the hw struct.")
stores the irq number in the hw struct before MSI is enabled. This
caused a regression for mei_me_synchronize_irq() waiting for the wrong
irq number. On my laptop this causes a hang on shutdown. Fix the issue
by storing the irq number after enabling MSI.
