The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is (mostly) ignored
and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a
quest to make the remove callback return void. In the first step of this
quest all drivers are converted to .remove_new() which already returns
void.
panel_edp_remove() always returned zero, so convert it to return void
without any loss and then just drop the return from
panel_edp_platform_remove().

ktime_get is based on CLOCK_MONOTONIC which stops on suspend. On
suspend, the time that the panel was powerd off is recorded with
ktime_get, and on resume this time is compared to the current ktime_get
time to determine if the driver should wait for the panel to power down
completely before re-enabling it.
Because we're using ktime_get, this delay doesn't account for the time
that the device is suspended, during which the power down delay may have
already elapsed.
Change to use ktime_get_boottime throughout, which uses CLOCK_BOOTTIME
which does not stop when suspended. This ensures that the resume path
will not be delayed if the power off delay has already been met while
the device is suspended.

Commit 52824ca450 ("drm/panel-edp: Better describe eDP panel delays")
clarified the various delays used for eDP panels, tying them to the eDP
panel timing diagram.
For Innolux N116BCA-EA1, .prepare_to_enable would be:
t4_min + t5_min + t6_min + max(t7_max, t8_min)
Since t4_min and t5_min are both 0, the panel can use either .enable or
.prepare_to_enable.
As .enable is better defined, switch to using .enable for this panel.
Also add .disable = 50, based on the datasheet's t9_min value. This
effectively makes the delays the same as delay_200_500_e80_d50.

Let's add support for being able to read the HPD pin even if it's
hooked directly to the controller. This will allow us to get more
accurate delays also lets us take away the waiting in the AUX transfer
functions of the eDP controller drivers.

drm_crtc.h has no need for drm_edid.h, so don't include it.
Avoids useless rebuilds of the entire universe when
touching drm_edid.h.
Quite a few placs do currently depend on drm_edid.h without
actually including it directly. All of those need to be fixed
up.

functional changes.

Recently we added generic "edp-panel"s probed by EDID. To support
panels in this way we look at the panel ID in the EDID and look up the
panel in a table that has power sequence timings. If we find a panel
that's not in the table we will still attempt to use it but we'll use
conservative timings. While it's likely that these conservative

Let's add a new debugfs entry to panel devices. It will have one of:
* UNKNOWN - We tried to detect a panel but it wasn't in our table.
* HARDCODED - We're not using generic "edp-panel" probed by EDID.
* A panel name - This is the name of the panel from our table.

Recently we added generic "edp-panel"s probed by EDID. To support
panels in this way we look at the panel ID in the EDID and look up the
panel in a table that has power sequence timings. If we find a panel
that's not in the table we will still attempt to use it but we'll use
conservative timings. While it's likely that these conservative
timings will work for most nearly all panels, the performance of
turning the panel off and on suffers.

The edp_panel_entry members 'delay' and 'name' are documented, but
without the correct syntax for kernel doc.
This generates the following warnings:

As discussed in the patch ("dt-bindings: drm/panel-simple: Introduce
generic eDP panels") we can actually support probing eDP panels at
runtime instead of hardcoding what panel is connected. Add support to
the panel-edp driver for this.
We'll implement a solution like this:
* We'll read in two delays from the device tree that are used for
powering up the panel the initial time (to read the EDID).
* In the EDID we can find a 32-bit ID that identifies what panel we've
found. From this ID we can look up the full set of delays.
After this change we'll still need to add per-panel delays into the
panel-simple driver but we will no longer need to specify exactly
which panel is connected to which board in the device tree. Nicely,
any panels that are only supported this way also don't need to
hardcode mode data since it's guaranteed that we can get that through
the EDID.
This patch will seed the ID-to-delay table with a few panels that I
have access to, many of which are on sc7180-trogdor devices.
