drm/vc4: fix vc4_atomic_commit_tail() logic
In vc4_atomic_commit_tail() we iterate of the set of old CRTCs, and
attempt to wait on any channels which are still in use. When we iterate
over the CRTCs, we have:

* `i` - the index of the CRTC
* `channel` - the channel a CRTC is using

When we check the channel state, we consult:

  old_hvs_state->fifo_state[channel].in_use

... but when we wait for the channel, we erroneously wait on:

  old_hvs_state->fifo_state[i].pending_commit

... rather than:

   old_hvs_state->fifo_state[channel].pending_commit

... and this bogus access has been observed to result in boot-time hangs
on some arm64 configurations, and can be detected using KASAN. FIx this
by using the correct index.

I've tested this on a Raspberry Pi 3 model B v1.2 with KASAN.

Trimmed KASAN splat:

drm: Introduce a drm_crtc_commit_wait helper
There's currently four users of the same logic to wait for a commit to
be flipped: three for the CRTCs, connectors and planes in
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_dependencies, and one in vc4.

Let's consolidate this a bit to avoid any code duplication.

drm/vc4: kms: Convert to atomic helpers
Now that the semaphore is gone, our atomic_commit implementation is
basically drm_atomic_helper_commit with a somewhat custom commit_tail,
the main difference being that we're using wait_for_flip_done instead of
wait_for_vblanks used in the drm_atomic_helper_commit_tail helper.

Let's switch to using drm_atomic_helper_commit.

The HVS state now has both unassigned_channels that reflects the

Both express pretty much the same thing, and we need the in_use variable

drm/vc4: kms: Wait on previous FIFO users before a commit
If we're having two subsequent, non-blocking, commits on two different
CRTCs that share no resources, there's no guarantee on the order of
execution of both commits.

However, the second one will consider the first one as the old state,
and will be in charge of freeing it once that second commit is done.

If the first commit happens after that second commit, it might access
some resources related to its state that has been freed, resulting in a
use-after-free bug.

The standard DRM objects are protected against this, but our HVS private
state isn't so let's make sure we wait for all the previous FIFO users
to finish their commit before going with our own.

drm/vc4: kms: Don't disable the muxing of an active CRTC
The current HVS muxing code will consider the CRTCs in a given state to
setup their muxing in the HVS, and disable the other CRTCs muxes.

However, it's valid to only update a single CRTC with a state, and in this
situation we would mux out a CRTC that was enabled but left untouched by
the new state.

Fix this by setting a flag on the CRTC state when the muxing has been
changed, and only change the muxing configuration when that flag is there.

drm/vc4: kms: Store the unassigned channel list in the state
If a CRTC is enabled but not active, and that we're then doing a page
flip on another CRTC, drm_atomic_get_crtc_state will bring the first
CRTC state into the global state, and will make us wait for its vblank
as well, even though that might never occur.

Instead of creating the list of the free channels each time atomic_check
is called, and calling drm_atomic_get_crtc_state to retrieve the
allocated channels, let's create a private state object in the main
atomic state, and use it to store the available channels.

Since vc4 has a semaphore (with a value of 1, so a lock) in its commit
implementation to serialize all the commits, even the nonblocking ones, we
are free from the use-after-free race if two subsequent commits are not ran
in their submission order.

drm/vc4: crtc: Keep the previously assigned HVS FIFO
The HVS FIFOs are currently assigned each time we have an atomic_check
for all the enabled CRTCs.

However, if we are running multiple outputs in parallel and we happen to
disable the first (by index) CRTC, we end up changing the assigned FIFO
of the second CRTC without disabling and reenabling the pixelvalve which
ends up in a stall and eventually a VBLANK timeout.

In order to fix this, we can create a special value for our assigned

drm/vc4: hvs: Pull the state of all the CRTCs prior to PV muxing
The vc4 display engine has a first controller called the HVS that will
perform the composition of the planes. That HVS has 3 FIFOs and can
therefore compose planes for up to three outputs. The timings part is
generated through a component called the Pixel Valve, and the BCM2711 has 6
of them.

Thus, the HVS has some bits to control which FIFO gets output to which
Pixel Valve. The current code supports that muxing by looking at all the
CRTCs in a new DRM atomic state in atomic_check, and given the set of
constraints that we have, assigns FIFOs to CRTCs or reject the mode
entirely. The actual muxing will occur during atomic_commit.

However, that doesn't work if only a fraction of the CRTCs' state is
updated in that state, since it will ignore the CRTCs that are kept running
unmodified, and will thus unassign its associated FIFO, and later disable
it.

In order to make the code work as expected, let's pull the CRTC state of
all the enabled CRTC in our atomic_check so that we can operate on all the
running CRTCs, no matter whether they are affected by the new state or not.

The HVS found in the BCM2711 has 6 outputs and 3 FIFOs, with each output
being connected to a pixelvalve, and some muxing between the FIFOs and
outputs.

Any output cannot feed from any FIFO though, and they all have a bunch of
constraints.

In order to support this, let's store the possible FIFOs each output can be
assigned to in the vc4_crtc_data, and use that information at atomic_check
time to iterate over all the CRTCs enabled and assign them FIFOs.

The channel assigned is then set in the vc4_crtc_state so that the rest of

drm/vc4: Add a load tracker to prevent HVS underflow errors
The HVS block is supposed to fill the pixelvalve FIFOs fast enough to
meet the requested framerate. The problem is, the HVS and memory bus
bandwidths are limited, and if we don't take these limitations into
account we might end up with HVS underflow errors.

This patch is trying to model the per-plane HVS and memory bus bandwidth
consumption and take a decision at atomic_check() time whether the
estimated load will fit in the HVS and membus budget.

Note that we take an extra margin on the memory bus consumption to let
the system run smoothly when other blocks are doing heavy use of the
memory bus. Same goes for the HVS limit, except the margin is smaller in
this case, since the HVS is not used by external components.

fcd70cd36b drm: Split out drm_probe_helper.h
Having the probe helper stuff (which pretty much everyone needs) in

confusing. Split them out.

To make sure I actually achieved the goal here I went through all
drivers. And indeed, all atomic drivers are now free of
drm_crtc_helper.h includes.

v2: Make it compile. There was so much compile fail on arm drivers
that I figured I'll better not include any of the acks on v1.

v3: Massive rebase because i915 has lost a lot of drmP.h includes, but
not all: Through drm_crtc_helper.h > drm_modeset_helper.h -> drmP.h
there was still one, which this patch largely removes. Which means
rolling out lots more includes all over.

This will also conflict with ongoing drmP.h cleanup by others I
expect.

v3: Rebase on top of atomic bochs.

v4: Review from Laurent for bridge/rcar/omap/shmob/core bits:
- (re)move some of the added includes, use the better include files in
  other places (all suggested from Laurent adopted unchanged).
- sort alphabetically

v5: Actually try to sort them, and while at it, sort all the ones I
touch.

233386d8f2 drm/vc4: Use drm_fbdev_generic_setup()
The CMA helper is already using the drm_fb_helper_generic_probe part of
the generic fbdev emulation. This patch makes full use of the generic
fbdev emulation by using its drm_client callbacks. This means that
drm_mode_config_funcs->output_poll_changed and drm_driver->lastclose are
now handled by the emulation code. Additionally fbdev unregister happens
automatically on drm_dev_unregister().

The drm_fbdev_generic_setup() call is put after drm_dev_register() in the
driver. This is done to highlight the fact that fbdev emulation is an
internal client that makes use of the driver, it is not part of the
driver as such. If fbdev setup fails, an error is printed, but the driver
succeeds probing.

drm_fbdev_generic_setup() handles mode_config.num_connector being zero.
In that case it retries fbdev setup on the next .output_poll_changed.

1ebe99a75e drm/vc4: Call drm_atomic_helper_fake_vblank() in the commit path
Mimic what is done in drm_atomic_commit_tail() and call
drm_atomic_helper_fake_vblank() so that VBLANK events are faked
when the drm_crtc_state.no_vblank is true. Will be needed when we'll
add support for the transposer block.

184d3cf4f7 drm/vc4: Use wait_for_flip_done() instead of wait_for_vblanks()
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() assumes the CRTC will continuously
generate VBLANK events and the vblank counter will keep increasing.
While this work for a regular pipeline, it doesn't when you have the
CRTC is feeding the transposer block, because this block works in
oneshot mode, and, by the time we reach
drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() the only VBLANK event might have
already been sent and the VBLANK counter will stay unchanged, thus
triggering a timeout.

Luckily, we can replace the drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() call
by drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_flip_done() because the only thing we
want to check when calling drm_atomic_helper_wait_for_vblanks() from
vc4_atomic_complete_commit() is that new FBs are in use and the old
ones can be safely released.

766cc6b1f7 drm/vc4: Add CTM support
The hardware has a single block for applying a CTM prior to gamma lut.
It can be fed with pixels from one of our CRTC at a time and uses a
matrix with S0.9 scalars. Use private atomic state to reject attempts
from userland to apply CTM for more than one CRTC at a time and reject
matrices with scalars that we can't approximate without integer bits.

539c320bfa drm/vc4: update cursors asynchronously through atomic
Add support for async updates of cursors by using the new atomic

b8f429a77f drm/vc4: Use drm_fb_cma_fbdev_init/fini()
Use drm_fb_cma_fbdev_init() and drm_fb_cma_fbdev_fini() which relies on
the fact that drm_device holds a pointer to the drm_fb_helper structure.
This means that the driver doesn't have to keep track of that.
Also use the drm_fb_helper functions directly.

drm_atomic_helper_swap_state() will be changed to interruptible waiting
