87db82cb61 net: dpaa2-mac: move rtnl_lock() only around phylink_{,dis}connect_phy()
After the introduction of a private mac_lock that serializes access to
priv->mac (and port_priv->mac in the switch), the only remaining purpose
of rtnl_lock() is to satisfy the locking requirements of
phylink_fwnode_phy_connect() and phylink_disconnect_phy().

But the functions these live in, dpaa2_mac_connect() and
dpaa2_mac_disconnect(), have contradictory locking requirements.
While phylink_fwnode_phy_connect() wants rtnl_lock() to be held,
phylink_create() wants it to not be held.

Move the rtnl_lock() from top-level (in the dpaa2-eth and dpaa2-switch
drivers) to only surround the phylink calls that require it, in the
dpaa2-mac library code.

This is possible because dpaa2_mac_connect() and dpaa2_mac_disconnect()
run unlocked, and there isn't any danger of an AB/BA deadlock between
the rtnl_mutex and other private locks.

ccbd782295 net: dpaa2-mac: remove defensive check in dpaa2_mac_disconnect()
dpaa2_mac_disconnect() will only be called with a NULL mac->phylink if
dpaa2_mac_connect() failed, or was never called.

The callers are these:

dpaa2_eth_disconnect_mac():

	if (dpaa2_eth_is_type_phy(priv))
		dpaa2_mac_disconnect(priv->mac);

dpaa2_switch_port_disconnect_mac():

	if (dpaa2_switch_port_is_type_phy(port_priv))
		dpaa2_mac_disconnect(port_priv->mac);

priv->mac can be NULL, but in that case, dpaa2_eth_is_type_phy() returns
false, and dpaa2_mac_disconnect() is never called. Similar for
dpaa2-switch.

When priv->mac is non-NULL, it means that dpaa2_mac_connect() returned
zero (success), and therefore, priv->mac->phylink is also a valid
pointer.

f978fe85b8 dpaa2-mac: configure the SerDes phy on a protocol change
This patch integrates the dpaa2-eth driver with the generic PHY
infrastructure in order to search, find and reconfigure the SerDes lanes
in case of a protocol change.

On the .mac_config() callback, the phy_set_mode_ext() API is called so
that the Lynx 28G SerDes PHY driver can change the lane's configuration.
In the same phylink callback the MC firmware is called so that it
reconfigures the MAC side to run using the new protocol.

The consumer drivers - dpaa2-eth and dpaa2-switch - are updated to call
the dpaa2_mac_start/stop functions newly added which will
power_on/power_off the associated SerDes lane.

4e30e98c4b dpaa2-mac: return -EPROBE_DEFER from dpaa2_mac_open in case the fwnode is not set
We could get into a situation when the fwnode of the parent device is
not yet set because its probe didn't yet finish. When this happens, any
caller of the dpaa2_mac_open() will not have the fwnode available, thus

Avoid this by just returning -EPROBE_DEFER from the dpaa2_mac_open when

Include PCS support in the dpaa2-eth driver by integrating it with the
new Lynx PCS module. There is not much to talk about in terms of changes
needed in the dpaa2-eth driver since the only steps necessary are to
find the MDIO device representing the PCS, register it to the Lynx PCS
module and then let phylink know if its existence also.
After this, the PCS callbacks will be treated directly by Lynx, without
interraction from dpaa2-eth's part.

37556a4ac4 net: dpaa2-mac: use resolved link config in mac_link_up()
Convert the DPAA2 ethernet driver to use the finalised link parameters
in mac_link_up() rather than the parameters in mac_config(), which are
more suited to the needs of the DPAA2 MC firmware than those available
via mac_config().

91a208f218 net: phylink: propagate resolved link config via mac_link_up()
Propagate the resolved link parameters via the mac_link_up() call for
MACs that do not automatically track their PCS state. We propagate the
link parameters via function arguments so that inappropriate members
of struct phylink_link_state can't be accessed, and creating a new
structure just for this adds needless complexity to the API.

991df1fbb0 dpaa2-eth: add ethtool MAC counters
When a DPNI is connected to a MAC, export its associated counters.
Ethtool related functions are added in dpaa2_mac for returning the
number of counters, their strings and also their values.

226df3ef1c dpaa2-eth: fix an always true condition in dpaa2_mac_get_if_mode
Convert the phy_mode() function to return the if_mode through an
argument, similar to the new form of of_get_phy_mode().
This will help with handling errors in a common manner and also will fix
an always true condition.

0c65b2b90d net: of_get_phy_mode: Change API to solve int/unit warnings
Before this change of_get_phy_mode() returned an enum,
phy_interface_t. On error, -ENODEV etc, is returned. If the result of
the function is stored in a variable of type phy_interface_t, and the
compiler has decided to represent this as an unsigned int, comparision
with -ENODEV etc, is a signed vs unsigned comparision.

Fix this problem by changing the API. Make the function return an
error, or 0 on success, and pass a pointer, of type phy_interface_t,
where the phy mode should be stored.

v2:
Return with *interface set to PHY_INTERFACE_MODE_NA on error.
Add error checks to all users of of_get_phy_mode()
Fixup a few reverse christmas tree errors
Fixup a few slightly malformed reverse christmas trees

v3:
Fix 0-day reported errors.

7194792308 dpaa2-eth: add MAC/PHY support through phylink
The dpaa2-eth driver now has support for connecting to its associated
PHY device found through standard OF bindings.

This happens when the DPNI object (that the driver probes on) gets
connected to a DPMAC. When that happens, the device tree is looked up by
the DPMAC ID, and the associated PHY bindings are found.

The old logic of handling the net device's link state by hand still
needs to be kept, as the DPNI can be connected to other devices on the
bus than a DPMAC: other DPNI, DPSW ports, etc. This logic is only
engaged when there is no DPMAC (and therefore no phylink instance)
attached.

The MC firmware support multiple type of DPMAC links: TYPE_FIXED,
TYPE_PHY. The TYPE_FIXED mode does not require any DPMAC management from
Linux side, and as such, the driver will not handle such a DPMAC.

Although PHYLINK typically handles SFP cages and in-band AN modes, for
the moment the driver only supports the RGMII interfaces found on the
LX2160A. Support for other modes will come later.
